The Route Success and Consumer engineering teams own the systems which power the on the road experience for our driver partners in the final mile of our logistics network, and the consumer facing services that help Veho deliver on our vision for a differentiated post-purchase experience for consumers. The teams are responsible for driving successful outcomes for our driver partners throughout the delivery lifecycle, and ensuring top notch interactions with the customers and clients we service.
As Senior Engineering Manager for our Route Success team and our Consumer team, you’ll lead the strategy and execution and work closely with Product to build out features and functionality in driver APIs, internal UIs, Driver Mobile Application, Tracking Page, and Consumer systems. You’ll work on projects related to geo spatial, driver and consumer powered data to give drivers the tools they need to deliver to addresses across our network. You’ll lead the long-term strategy for the Consumer space as we create differentiation for Veho in how we show up for our clients and how our clients show up to their consumers. On a daily basis, you will help the team solve tactical problems that improve and redefine the driver experience for delivering to consumers doorsteps.

What you'll be doing
- Leading and supporting the overall development life cycle of the Route Success and Consumer spaces, and managing complex projects with significant bottom-line impact
- Overseeing a team of developers while providing clarity and direction as they evolve next generation driver facing products powering our delivery and returns experiences
- Partnering with our New Initiatives team to strategize and execute on how to help grow Veho’s business through new offerings
- Working with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide industry differentiating capabilities for a variety of product lines and platforms
- Instilling best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules
- Navigating prioritization, planning of projects and features, Stakeholder management, and tracking of external commitments
- Translating business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
- Monitoring the operational success of production services
- Collaborating on and participating in recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding strategies and processes
- Hands-on development focus about 25% of the time
What you'll bring
- 7+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of experience of engineering leadership and management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- Deep hands-on technical expertise in mobile or web-technologies
- Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development
- Software development experience in building web services and highly scalable applications
- Proficient with server-side languages such as Javascript, Typescript, React, Node.js etc.
- Experience with data structures and algorithms and knowledge of relational databases (NoSQL experience would be a nice add)
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical information effectively to internal and external/non-technical stakeholders.
Compensation:
$211,000-221,000 per year
The pay range is subject to the discretion of the Company. Additionally, Veho offers a competitive equity package, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage as well as other benefits such as 401k and generous PTO for full-time roles.
