ABOUT THE ROLE
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing end-to-end AR operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and cash application. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with large transaction volumes, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate and issue a high volume of accurate customer invoices on a recurring and ad hoc basis
Monitor accounts to ensure timely collections and follow up on overdue balances
Apply daily cash receipts and reconcile discrepancies across multiple payment methods
Investigate and resolve billing issues, disputes, and customer inquiries
Maintain accurate AR aging reports and provide regular updates to management
Support the sales team with all customer and vendor form management
Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure billing accuracy and alignment
Assist in improving AR processes, systems, and automation as the company scales
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Support with other responsibilities as required
QUALIFICATIONS
2–5+ years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar accounting role
Proven ability to manage high-volume transactional workloads with accuracy and efficiency
Strong understanding of AR processes, including invoicing, collections, and cash application
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth or startup environment preferred
Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel (ERP experience a plus)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions
Proficient with Stripe, Quickbooks, Excel, Claude, Hubspot and Slack
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
NICE TO HAVES
Experience with SaaS or usage-based billing models
Familiarity with automation tools and process improvement initiatives
Exposure to audit support and compliance requirements

Our Compensation Philosophy
Spellbook uses industry benchmark data to establish compensation bands for all roles. The salary range listed for a position reflects the expected total wage range for the role—including base salary and on-target commissions, where applicable—and may span multiple career levels. Final compensation is determined during the interview process based on factors such as experience, skills, scope, and role level. In addition to base salary and applicable commissions, total rewards may include equity, health and wellness benefits, and other company programs.
